Stieg Larsson's Millenium Trilogy has become a rage with book readers and this is the first in the series. I was naturally very eager to get my hands at it. Its an engaging thriller, no doubt, it drives you crazy trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together. But it seems these days any crime fiction needs to have a "sexual assault" and "a rape victim" in its plot. I'm tired of the sexual harassment stories, and I've decided to not read the other two in the series. I dont know what's happened with the Agathe Christie, Sherlock Holmes style where the focus was not on the gory details of the crime but on the unravelling of the mystery, and the "Ha! how did I miss that!" moment. Just want to return to simpler times and stories. I'm just not ready for Larsson.
